What's in a name?

PR stands for Personal Record. As for "Exemplar," I would like to set a good example for aspiring runners everywhere to show them that dreams can come true. I believe that if you can take what the world throws at you and keep persevering toward your goals, then one day you will succeed. All champions endure their share of trials.

About Jin Daikoku

Welcome to PR Exemplar. If you'd like to get to know me, I'm more than happy to share

So... about me: I am 24 years old (born 5/3/1983 in San Francisco, CA) and work part-time while working toward an MBA with a focus on management. However, my true passion is long distance running.

I love coaching and competing. In a sense, coaching is like running X number of races all at once. It can be very intense, but also very rewarding.

Currently, I coach at my alma-mater, Lowell High School in San Francisco. I also run for my club team, New Balance Excelsior.

The Race to 234

One of the things that I'd like to record on this site is my own journey toward fulfilling a life long dream--the elusive Sub-4 minute mile. I know I can do it, but it's going to take a lot of hard work, skill, and probably some luck as well. I hope you'll enjoy following me on this roller-coaster ride to personal victory. You might wonder what "234" is... I am referring to two hundred and thirty four seconds, which equates to 3:54 for the mile. That is a time that I've always felt I am capable of running.
